A delegation of NATURE-ETN ESRs at the SCNAC 2022 in Czechia

On the week of the 6th of June 2022, ten of our Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) attended the XVIIIth Symposium on Chemistry of Nucleic Acid Components in Český Krumlov, Czechia.

This conference was organised by Prof. Michal Hocek, NATURE-ETN supervisor at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry (IOCB), and his team, including our ESRs Tania Sánchez Quirante and Mario Dominguez Garcia.

ESRs Chun-Yin Chan, Elsa Peev, Eva Schönegger, and Malou Coche as well as our co-supervisor Dr. Georgia Menounou from the Dublin City University had the opportunity to present their research during the conference’s poster sessions.

NATURE-ETN Principal Investigators Prof. Tom Brown and Dr. Afaf El Sagheer from the University of Oxford, and Prof. Thomas Carell from the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich were among the invited speakers.

What made this event special is also the immersion into the historic town of Český Krumlov, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This immersion notably went through traditional costumes, as shown in some of the pictures.

We thank Prof. Hocek and his team for organising such a successful event and all speakers and participants for the great talks and conversations. We already look forward to the next edition!
